The boys and I discovered the best gas station ever (it puts Cumberland Farms to shame). While driving to Virginia this past Fall, we kept passing signs for Sheetz and all the delicious food they offered. We kept talking about them but it was never a good time to stop. Finally when we reached Hershey, PA the time had come and we were going to see if they lived up to the hype of their signs.
It was a normal gas station but they had a really large food counter. There were touch screens to place your order and it printed off a receipt. You had to take the receipt to the register to pay and than wait for them to call out your order.
The boys and I shared this chicken sandwich that is smothered in cheese, marinara sauce, and mozzarella sticks (yes there was an appetizer on top of our sandwich). This is hands down the best thing I have ever eaten in a gas station. I practically Sheetz'd myself when I first saw it. It was a gooey, fried, delicious sandwich and I don't even want to think about how many calories it was (thank goodness we split it between the three of us).
We also tried out the pickles in a bag (Oh Snap Pickling Co.). The boys and I were fighting over who was going to get the last one (I think Riley one that battle). I have since found them in our local walmart for only $.75 a bag.
We washed down this delicious snack with a super giant diet coke.
We loved this place and we are considering moving somewhere new so we can be closer to one. On the other hand if I ever want to get healthy it is probably best if I have a little distance between me and that sandwich.
