When we were visiting family in Pucon, we decided to spend a day in Temuco. By the time we arrived in the city and found somewhere to park, we were starving and immediately set off to find somewhere to eat. Once we reached the Artisan Market, we picked the first restaurant we came upon and decided that Restaurant Angelmo was the one for us.
We were taken to the second floor and quickly settled in to look over the menu.
As you can see they have a pretty extensive menu. Since I was starving, everything sounded delicious. After a few minutes I was able to narrow it down and make my decision.
We started off with an order of sopapillas, bread, pebre, and aji. They were so good and fresh. It makes me miss my pebre when I look at these pictures.
Reneiria, Moises, and Gabrian (though he shared with Reneiria) all ordered the Paila Marina. If you are a seafood lover, this dish is not to be missed. It is a wonderful stew full of mussels, clams, shrimp, and fish. The broth is a wonderful flavor that tastes like it is straight from the sea.
I ordered the steak and fries. The steak was wonderfully seasoned and perfectly cooked (for someone like me that likes their steak well done). The fries not so much. I think they may have changed the oil 5 or 6 months ago and then just left them soaking in cold oil until they were ready to serve them to me. Thankfully I filled up on steak and didn't need those stinkin fries!
My Mom went with her beloved Cazuela made with chicken. She thought that this was a success for her. She loved the combination of the flavors and they did a great job with the broth. If you like a comforting soup, this is the dish for you!
Overall, this wasn't fancy but it suited us just fine for lunch. We all enjoyed our food (minus the fries) and we would definitely eat there again. If you would like to try them out for yourself, they are located at Local 33 Mercado Municipal, Temuco, Chile.
