Happy Mother's Day to all of you Mother's out there. We had a great day here in Southern Maine. It reached well into the 80's and we took advantage of the great weather.
My morning started off with Riley treating us to Little Big's Donuts this morning for my Mother's Day present. Then in the afternoon my friend Tenney and her son met up with us at Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth.
I never knew this place existed but it was amazing. If you are ever visiting in Southern Maine, make sure you fit in a visit to this Park. There was so much to see and do here. They have picnic tables, grills that are free to use, a small beach, different places to hike, a lighthouse and breathtaking views everywhere you looked.
We met up around 1 and had lunch right away. We found a picnic table and put out our spread. Gabrian was a little cranky going in but he warmed up pretty quickly.
After lunch and some delicious Maple Whoopie Pies from Steve's Snacks. We headed over to a fairly open field to do some kite flying (we tried to stay away from the professional looking kite flyers with their fancy swag...no need to make people hate us on Mother's Day as our boys take out their expensive kites).
We managed to exhaust the boys in about 20 minutes of straight out running to get those kites up in the air. Our group relaxed in the sun for awhile before heading home.
It was the perfect way to spend my Mother's Day. Hope everyone else had an equally wonderful day!
