Saturday Weigh In

Could I be any less computer savvy? For the life of me I cannot figure out how to edit this picture and rotate it. I tried to do it in my pictures file and it didn't work. I tried to do it here in blogger but couldn't figure out how to do it. So I present to you my sideways picture.

The good news is I lost 3.6 lbs. this week! I am only a pound away from where I was when I went off the rails (again). I am hoping to blow past that mark next week.

My Fitness Pal is really working out. It has been an adjustment but I am really starting to get the hang of it. I like that I can access it both on my computer and as an App on my phone.

You already know about my love of the Fitbit Flex and it has been a great motivator. I am looking forward to the end of the first week of it to get an idea of my weekly stats and what I can set as my first goal.

I have lots of new recipes to try out this week. I found a new blog called Skinny Taste and she has a whole slew of awesome recipes to try out. She lists the calories and Weight Watcher points depending on what you are following. She also has a pretty awesome looking cookbook out that is going on my Christmas list this year. I look forward to trying out her recipes this week that I printed out. I will let you know next week if there were any clear winners for us.

Tonight I am roasting a chicken. I can hardly believe it myself. I am trying to cook more at home. Not only is it healthier but I am looking to save money for Chile. I have been having fun looking for the recipes.

In the past I would gather the recipes and all the ingredients and then not want to make them when it came time or all of a sudden it wasn't what I wanted to eat that night. We would either eat garbage (lots of mac and cheese) or I would get some take-out.

I have started a new mantra in my life of "put on your big girl panties". I need to be a grown-up and realize I have responsibilities and stop giving myself excused to get out of them. I need to make dinner every night whether I feel like it or not. I also need to bring it as my lunch the next day even if it wasn't my favorite recipe. I was buying lunch way to often.

This is coming into play in other areas of my life as well. There are certain things I want to get accomplished in the evening and around the house. I was getting sucked into watching tv at night. Starting last week, I had to do my activities before I could settle down for the night. I feel myself getting much more productive.

I think this mantra is going to help with the weight loss as well. Yes, I don't always feel like doing it but so what. I am an adult and just need to do it. This means eating what I had planned and not whatever I feel like at the moment. It also means getting some type of activity in every day even if I don't want to. I am embracing this new life!
