Dinner Hissy Fit
Every morning, Gabrian and Poppy Cat have the same routine. Gabrian turns on the fire (he has been dying for the weather to be cooler for him to use it) and beds down in front of it. Poppy makes it her mission in life to get as close to him as possible.
We are trying to be better about our morning routine and get out of the house earlier so that I can stop being late to work. This didn't stop us from getting excited about Gabrian's new pocket shirt and having a mini photo session before we left.
Gabrian is really starting to get interested in taking pictures lately (maybe a possible Christmas gift for him??). I don't think he is doing too shabby for a 5-year old.
Gabrian and I had to stop at the market on the way home to pick out something for dessert. It was such a mistake going there while I was starving. Everything looked delicious and before I knew it my cart was semi-full (mistake #2 was grabbing that cart instead of just walking out with what I could carry in my hands). I walked out $20 poorer and a couple bagful's of crap I don't really need.
When we got home, someone had a hissy fit about the planned dinner. They didn't want it the meal and wanted a $5 pizza from Little Caesar's instead. That person was me. It seriously took me about 10 minutes of having a tantrum before I buckled down and started to make dinner.
I tried out a new recipe for Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry. It was so delicious and I am so happy that I sucked it up and made it. Riley loved it and even ate seconds.
I am trying so hard during the week to be better about making our dinner every night and having everyone sit down together to eat it. I want to help us all get healthier. The conversations we have at the dinner table have been a wonderful bonus.
Hopefully I remember this lesson tomorrow when I need to make the next meal! Anyone else have a hissy fit when it is time to make dinner at night?
