Hello to my very neglected blog. I have come to the realization that I need to stop proclaiming these wonderful ideas I have to blog about and then give up after one attempt. I should blog about what I find interesting at the moment. I would like to continue posting and it will just have to be a hodgepodge.
I would like to restart the restaurant reviews when I go to them. I am on a pretty tight budget so I am not sure how interesting it would be to review Wendy's more than 6 or 7 times before you guys say enough already. I have bought some Groupon/Living Social deals recently so I should have some new reviews in my near future.
I started back at Weight Watchers about 5 weeks ago. I didn't want to post anything right away because I have been famous for joining and making this grand statement about this time it feels different and I know I am going to do it and then I quit 2 weeks later.
This time I have changed it up a little. I am eating every 2 hours and really trying to bring back the old habits of when I lost successfully the first time. I have started eating some of my old favorites. The eating every two hours has certainly made it easier. I feel myself getting really cranky if I miss a scheduled eating.
I weighed in at 354.8 on my initial weigh in and 5 weeks later, I am down to 340.6. The last couple of weeks I have hovered around my current weight and I think I discovered the culprit. I was seriously miscalculating my hummus. I thought one serving was only 1 point when it was actually 2 points per serving. I was eating a lot of it because I thought it was such a point bargain. I am sorry to say it has really cost me. I am hopeful with this correction made I should see a good loss next week. I would like to go back to the weekly reporting of my weight loss/gain each week and possibly check-ins during the week if I am having a particularly good or bad moment.
I know I have talked about moving to Chile in the past and it is still a real goal of mine. I would like to live there with Gabrian for at least a couple of years. I would like to live there and I would love for Gabrian to really bond with his family there and become fluent in Spanish. I have actually sent a target move date of January 2017. Riley would have graduated at this point and would be in College. Gabrian would only be in 2nd grade so I think he could easily adjust to going to school in Chile.
My first two items on my list to help with this goal is to lose weight and to work on my Spanish so I can eventually be fluent in it. After working on it for awhile, I would then like to see if I could organize a local group to practice my Spanish with. I could also work on corresponding with the people I know in Chile.
There will be so many things to research and prepare for this move. My big one is finding work while I am there. I need to either find a company that I could work for there or find a job where I can work from home and it doesn't matter where I live. The one thing I know is it needs to be a decent salary while I am there because it would be pointless to move there and then not have the money to do the things I would like to do while I am there (eating out, going to plays, festivals, wine festivals, shopping, traveling, and so on).
I would like to periodically post on my progress with this goal. I want to let you know about my research and the steps I have taken. Hopefully people will join me on my journey in case anyone else has a similar dream as mine.
Lastly, I would like to continue traveling and start doing actual reviews on the trip and the restaurants we try there. We have a big Disney trip coming up in August of this year and I will start to practice on that one.
So those are my big plans. While I won't make any big promises again, I would like to attempt to post 2-3 times a week. Anyone have any big plans going on in their lives? I would love to hear about it!
